We've just completed our third mission as Friends with Purpose. We went back to the town of Patzun in Guatemala to offer surgeries to the locals in need who would have found it difficult to get surgeries otherwise. In Patzun, we worked at the Corpus Christi Hospital which is a non-government hospital run by an order of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. The Franciscan nuns also maintain an orphanage on the premises, in addition to providing primarily outpatient hospital services. We are one of a number of medical teams who come during the year to provide medical services. In working with the Franciscan nuns, we believe we are able to be more effective in determining the people who may most need our services when we are there.
